The Mental Health Association in Delaware
The Mental Health Association in Delaware (MHA) is a statewide, nonprofit organization founded in 1932 to promote improved mental well-being for all individuals and families in Delaware through education, support and advocacy. MHA has free support groups throughout Delaware ranging from depression groups, anxiety groups, and groups for individuals who have lost a loved one to suicide. The organization also provides many training and educational opportunities, especially related to the topic of suicide prevention, at no cost or at a very low cost so that community members are able to intervene effectively. Lastly, MHA consistently advocates for reform in mental health by developing initiatives to help ensure progress. If you are interested in learning more about the agency’s services, please call 302-654-6833 or visit www.mhainde.org. MHA offers free Information & Referral from Monday through Friday 8am to 4pm to help Delawareans access information and navigate the mental health system, so do not hesitate to call if you need help.
The Division of Prevention and Behavioral Health Services (DPBHS)
The Division provides a statewide range of voluntary mental health and substance abuse prevention and treatment services for children and youth.
Our vision, for all children and families to be strong, resilient, and live in supportive communities and our mission, to develop and support a family-driven, youth-guided, trauma-informed prevention and behavioral health system of care, drives us to continuously improve our services and reach our vision.
We serve Delaware families through prevention and early intervention programs that promote safe and healthy children, nurture families and communities, support social and academic success, and improve early identification of needs. We also serve eligible families of children and youth (through age 17) with behavioral treatment needs. Learn more at https://kids.delaware.gov/pbhs/pbhs.shtml
