2022 E-Racing the Blues for Mental Health Walk and Fun Fest

Want to enjoy the crisp fall air, get some exercise, and also have some fun? We welcome you in joining us on Saturday, October 1 at 10AM at Glasgow Park in Bear, DE for our 20th E-Racing the Blues for Mental Health Walk and Fun Fest. Officer Dakevis will be back again this year to lead you on your walk. Feel free to walk as little or as much as you’d like. Being together to support our cause is what’s most important. After the walk, we have refreshments and entertainment by Magic Bob!

Walking is a great way to alleviate depression, relieve stress and lower blood pressure. Many charities around the world organize walks to build a sense of community and promote exercise while also raising money for mental health initiatives.

Going for just a 30 minute walk each day can help with symptoms of anxiety. Going for a walk is also helpful to clear your head and helps promote better sleep. The endorphins released into your body during a walk can help to improve your mood. Even a few minutes of walking each day, especially with a friend will benefit your health and well- being. So, get your best sneakers ready and come out to join us not only to walk, but to have fun, socialize and raise awareness and money to support mental health.

Teamwork is another building block of mental health. Please visit www.eracingtheblues.org to sign up, donate and/or to create a team. Last year we had 5 teams, 90 participants and raised $31,7700 through sponsorships, individual donors and participant fees. All money raised goes towards funding our wellness groups, suicide prevention trainings, mental health conferences, peer trainings and more, to try to end the stigma of mental health through MHA’s mission of education, advocacy and support. We will do it again this year, but we can’t reach our goal without your help and participation. We are so grateful for the sponsors thus far for the event.

Registration in advance is preferred at this time to guarantee t shirt size. For more information, please contact Roberta Fishgold at rfishgold@mhainde.org. Get your best sneakers ready and come out to join us not only to walk, but also to have fun, socialize and raise awareness (and money!) to support mental health.

Looking forward to seeing you there!

Thank you to our SPONSORS!
